Every student that enrolls here at Allan Azoff’s Martial Arts Academy has the same short term and long term goals. Long term, everyone trains to earn the rank of Black Belt. To earn your Black Belt, you will learn a series of forms and multiple person attacks and defenses along with the history of our style. You’ll set short term goals as well. Adults will be tested on their progress 10 times before testing for Black Belt over a period of 3-4 years. Junior students will be tested 20 times over a period of about 5 years. You will need to make progress between each test to move up in rank. The most important thing to remember is that all students in our school, regardless of rank are treated as equals. There is no difference between a new white belt and an advanced Black Belt other than their level of experience. A higher rank just means you’ve trained longer, not that anyone is “better” than anyone else. That’s why we all wear traditional white uniforms. Everyone is equal here in the dojo.
